Introduction :
This course will use the concept of "From Zero to Hero", meaning that we will teach you from basic to mastering MySQL. In order to fully grasp the content of the class, students are expected to have a basic database concept and SQL. Student without basic concept of datbase are welcome to join the class but must expect not to fully grasp the whole content.

Tools that will be used in this class are as follows :-

  • MySQL 8
  • Linux (Centos)
  • Windows 10 / 11
  • MySQL Workbench
  • Terminal / Command Line

Each student should have the following minimum PC / Notebook specification recommendation:

  • Window 10 with 8 GB RAM
  • 45 GB Free Storage

Syllabus

Introduction

 

MySQL is an open-source relational database management system (RDBMS) based on Structured Query Language (SQL). MySQL runs on virtually all platforms, including Linux, UNIX, and Windows. Although it can be used in a wide range of applications, MySQL is most often associated with web-based applications and online publishing and is an important component of an open-source enterprise stack called LAMP.

LAMP is a Web development platform that uses Linux as the operating system, Apache as the Web server, MySQL as the relational database management system and PHP as the object-oriented scripting language. (Sometimes Perl or Python is used instead of PHP.)

 

Course Duration

These 5 days course will cover MySQL features for developer from scratch. At the end of the course, student will be able to use MySQL to the fullest in their daily system administration and development works.

 

Pr-requisite

Students who will join this course are expected to know basic Structured Query Language (SQL) and have some basic programming background to harvest the best knowledge from the class.

  • How to use functions

MODULE 3:  DATABASE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION

  • How to create views

 

MODULE 4:  STORED PROCEDURE DEVELOPMENT

  • Language skills for writing stored programs
  • How to use transactions and locking
  • How to create stored procedures and functions
  • How to create triggers and events

 

MODULE 5:  DATABASE ADMINISTRATION

  • An introduction to database administration
  • How to secure a database
  • How to back up and restore a database

 

MODULE 6: PROGRAMMING

  • MySQL and PHP
